Program Description

The Supply Chain Management Department is concerned with the study of logistics and supply chain management. Managing the flow of materials, products and information with high quality and efficiency within and between organizations is the basis upon which all industrial and service organizations in the whole world are based until customer satisfaction is achieved, and profitability rates are achieved, which then contribute to the development and modernization of goods and services. Logistic management also requires integration between activities which have a significant impact on customer service, including inventory management, transportation, warehousing, packaging, material handling, procurement, distribution, support services, and product returns

  • 1. Business and Knowledge 1.1. Students will describe and apply the fundamental theories and concepts in business logistics. 1.2. Students will evaluate the social, legal, economic, cultural, and political issues and trends that affect the way business is conducted. 1.3. Students will have a broad and deep understanding of their major discipline. 2. Practical and professional skills 2.1. Students will formulate strategies to integrate global trends with decision making. 2.2 Students will apply information technology/ innovative solutions to solve business logistics problems. 3. Intellectual skills 3.1. Students will analyse real business logistics problems to find innovative solutions. 3.2 Students will apply analytical techniques, models, frameworks or/and software appropriately in specific contexts 4. Generic/communications skills 4.1 Students will develop leadership skills and work effectively in teams in different cultures. 4.2 Students will use oral, written and technology-supported communication skills.

  • Supply chain is currently witnessing a tremendous growth worldwide and with that growth comes job opportunities. With every industry across the globe advances in technology with Industry 4.0, blockchain databases, and artificial intelligence being incorporated into supply chain processes, which makes Logistics and Supply Chain Management graduates distinguished and unique in the job market. This is due to the specialized courses studied that covers all the activities and functions of the supply chain thoroughly, from procurement management, production management, warehousing management and distribution management to customer relationship management, risk management and digitalization. Graduates are enabled to work in a variety of jobs in any of the following fields of work: purchasing, logistics and warehouse management, operations management, quality management, retail and sales management, customer service and consultancy services in local companies or multinational corporations in various fields. Accordingly, graduates are expected to pursue specialized careers that are not limited to: purchasing agent, logistics analyst, purchasing manager, supply chain manager, logistics manager, production and planning manager, storage and distribution manager, etc. The role of the supply chain management department graduate is also clear in most areas related to airports, ports of all kinds, industrial companies, shipping lines, and logistics companies, where graduates performs the following tasks: • Identify the processes involved in planning, developing and implementing information systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning, Customer Relationship Management, Supply Chain Management, and e-Procurement. • Using information to manage organizational knowledge, enhance organizational efficiency, and assisting in decision-making, creating a strategic competitive advantage. • Identify supply chain problems that require decision support and analysis in the organization. • Using appropriate mechanisms and tools to solve problems in supply chains. • Applying supply chain decisions that involve multiple stakeholders and uncertainty of operations.

Admission Requirements

Holder of the High School (Thanawiya Amma) certificate or any equivalent certificate.Medical fitness for the Nautical, Marine Engineering and Fisheries Technology departments. The student must not exceed 22 years (for Egyptians) at the beginning of classes and must declare his military conscription status. Sitting for the English Placement Test is a must. The student in the Marine Engineering Technology can complete their studies to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering after the fifth semester if they have met the requirements of admission in the College of Engineering and Technology. Enrollment Documents and Fees: 1- An official extract according to the type of the student certificate : High School (Thanawya Amma): A certificate, or an official extract, of successful completion of High School (Thanawya Amma). American Diploma: A certificate of grades of the tenth, eleventh and twelfth years with 12 years of schooling (official transcript). IGCSE: Certificates of three years after the ninth grade. Certificate of successful completion of courses in all equivalent certificates (Abitur French Baccalaureate the International Baccalaureate - the Canadian Baccalaureate). Birth certificate or an official document. 2- A copy of ID card or passport. 3- A copy of parents / guardian ID card or passport. 4- Four personal photos (6x4). 5- payment of $200 as submission and enrollment fees (Non- refundable). 6- Mental and Physical medical certificate . 7- A letter of embassy approval of the student admission to the Academy. This is a must for students whose embassies require that approval (Such as Saudi Arabia Kuwait- the United Arab Emirates. Jordan -Oman- Qatar).

Tests & Prerequisites

The Cambridge English Placement Test (CEPT) is an online adaptive test of general English used for candidate placement purposes. The test was developed by Cambridge English Language Assessment, which has a long history of language assessment & close links to the development of the CEFR. The test covers Reading, Use of English and Listening.A report of the results is provided from CEFR Level Pre-A1–C2.
