AASTMT Accessibility Center
The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) demonstrates continuous improvement in promoting social inclusion and equal opportunity for students with disabilities through the sustained enhancement of its Accessibility Center (AC). The Center has expanded its services during the 2023–2024 academic year to ensure full integration of students with diverse needs—particularly those with autism and physical disabilities—into academic and social life. By adopting universal design standards and implementing training for staff on discrimination prevention and affirmative action, the AC helps reduce social inequalities and promote equity across all campuses. Recent updates include improved campus infrastructure for mobility, upgraded assistive technologies, and strengthened coordination with student affairs to address health disparities and provide tailored academic support. These actions reflect AASTMT’s commitment to advancing social justice, combating inequality, and enhancing upward mobility for all learners in alignment with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) principles and the United Nations’ vision for inclusive and equitable higher education.
