AASTMT Smoke-Free Policy Implementation
No Smoking Policy and Awareness:

AASTMT has instituted a strict smoke-free policy across all its campuses and facilities:
Smoking is prohibited in all buildings and facilities.
Student employee code of conduct:
Smoking is banned under Article 17, Chapter 2.Violations incur disciplinary measures under Article 13, Chapter 3.
The policy is highlighted in AASTMT’s “Prosperous Life” health initiative, which includes organizational awareness programs.

AASTMT and Addiction control and treatment fund awareness program on drug abuse and addiction
In alignment with the National Strategy for Combating Drugs and Mitigating Abuse and Addiction for the period of 2024 to 2028, the government has reaffirmed its dedication to sustainable development and safeguarding future generations through the initiation of a comprehensive program by the Addiction Control and Treatment Fund. In partnership with the Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), this initiative aims to educate 29,000 male and female students about the perils associated with drug abuse and addiction. This effort underscores the state’s commitment to shielding youth from the threats of addiction while enhancing public understanding of the significance of prevention and treatment.
The launch event featured notable attendees, including H.E. Dr. Amr Othman, Director of the Addiction Control and Treatment Fund, and H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of AASTMT, along with AASTMT officials, who collectively signed a cooperation agreement. This agreement encompasses several essential components, including the development of innovative awareness campaigns and specialized training programs designed to prepare personnel engaged in addiction prevention and treatment. In addition to these awareness initiatives aimed at countering misconceptions regarding drugs and their detrimental effects, a sports marathon titled "You are stronger than drugs" is also set to take place, featuring a range of sports activities and games.

College of Pharmacy Students’ organized campaign against electronic cigarettes use – AASTMT El Alamein Campus

On May 9, 2025, students of college of Pharmacy, AASTMT El Alamein launched the VapeEscape Campaign to combat the rising use of e-cigarettes among students. Supervised by Dr. Mohammed El Shaib, Prof. Evan Ibrahim Saad, and Dr. Dina Mahdy (Campaign President), the initiative was led by 2nd-year pharmacy students and supported by faculty and student affairs.
Key activities included:Awareness booths and 40+ educational posters across campus, awareness sessions led by Ph. Mona Hosny on vaping risks like popcorn lung disease, Expert interviews with healthcare professionals, Social media outreach, reaching over 35,000 views
