Track Description

The Department of Marketing & International Business currently offers a Major in Marketing with an international/ global perspective that faces the new challenges in the business environment. The Marketing and International Business Department currently offers an educational service giving it a practical flavor as well as getting it in touch with the corporate sector for preparing students to the real industry practices.

Learning Outcomes

  • PO1 Identify, critically evaluate and apply theories of Marketing and International Business. PO2 Integrate the various managerial and marketing theories, while developing business plans, programmes, and policies in accordance with the organisation requirements by showing awareness of cross-cultural knowledge and market understandings. PO3 Critically evaluate and suggest solutions to decision making problems facing marketing managers of international firms by recognizing the impact of social, legal, ethical and technological forces on marketing decision making. PO4 Critically evaluate and appraise the context of marketing decision making, including international policy constraints and external influences. PO5 Illustrate the global nature of services marketing and appropriate measures to operate effectively in international settings. PO6 Exhibit expertise in their information collection, validation, processing and interpretation skills using a range of appropriate models, tools and techniques. PO7 Identify the principles of preparing marketing plans, programmes, and policies in accordance with the organizations requirements through effective use of qualitative and quantitative data.

  • There have been lately drastic changes in the economic, technological, political and cultural structure of the Egyptian business market introducing new job opportunities and challenges. The department of Marketing and International business provides a more contemporary set of skills, hands on experience and appropriate knowledge for its students to meet those flourishing career opportunities and job market demands. Career opportunities for students graduating with a Major in Marketing include Public Relations Manager, Promotions Assistant, Marketing Coordinator, Marketing Specialist, Customer Services, Marketing Consultant, Product/Brand Manager, Social Media Manager, Buying Agent, Broker, Marketing Research Analyst, Customer Service Representative, International Trade Specialist and Sales Manager.

Admission Requirements

The students registered in the marketing major require finishing 24 Core courses, 18 Major courses, and any 6 of the elective courses to graduate. Students with GPA more than 2.0 could register 6 courses equivalent to 18 credit hours per semester and 7 courses as graduation requirements in the last two semesters (Semesters 7 and 8) equivalent to 21 credit hours. Each student is allowed to register 2 courses equivalent to 6 credit hours in the Summer Semester. The courses in the department are taught in English.

Tests & Prerequisites

Each student could choose to register any course as long as they accomplish its prerequisite.

As a backbone of most successful multinational and global corporations, marketing presents new challenges to the business and academic world in terms both theory and practice. The globalization of business has opened up new markets and has altered the nature of competition. The world is becoming a global village and the need for better understanding international business practices, policies and strategies is indispensable. Accordingly, College of Management and Technology Alamein has decided the establish the Marketing Track in University of Hull program to better focus on the marketing students needs, introduce new majors with international/ global presepctive and face the new challegenes in the Egyptian business environment..
