Description

This course provides a definition of tourism development, its objectives, components and criteria. It attempts to analyze the economic impacts, sociocultural impacts, and environmental impacts of tourism development. This course introduces National/ Regional organizations for tourism development. It also attempts to explore the agents of tourism development, which are classified, into public sector and private sectors. It introduces the political framework of tourism development, consumerism in the travel industry, tourism development in Egypt, balanced and sustainable tourism development. It introduces a framework for the tourist attractions development. It also aims to explore building the tourism destination image and developing it.

Objectives

  • Understand the theories of tourism development. Explain and analyze different tourism impacts (economic, environmental and socio-cultural). Apply measures to sustain tourism development, develop attractions forming a competitive image for the destination. Differentiate between national and regional organizations. Know the measures of tourism development in Egypt.
