English for Special Purposes

Description

This is an academic writing course for College English learners. The course enhances communication skill in English language by non-native English speakers. Weekly lectures for one semester provide an overview of the speech s necessary for effective oral communication by pharmacists in their professional settings using English language. The course teaches writing in a straightforward manner, using a step‐by‐step approach. Clear models and varied practice help to develop confidence and style in writing. The course enhances the abilities of the Pharmacy student to answer essay type questions in exams using simple correct English linguistic structure. The course also aims at improving the students’ medical vocabulary and pronunciation with an emphasis in building fluency for patient/professional interactions.
