On completion of this course, student will be able to: 1. Describe the main activities and dimensions of the logistics operations. 2. Recognize the different environments in which organizations operate in terms of key decisions related to various logistics activities such as inventory management, facility location and warehouse and material management. 3. Apply computational and statistical techniques to extract information required for administrative and operational decisions such as transport management decisions, inventory management decisions and facility location decisions 4. Apply concepts in a practical way by understanding, analyzing and resolving case studies related to logistics management.

Objectives

  • This course aims to make student acquainted with logistics management concept and methods and provide them with the tools to analyze and solve business logistics problems. The students are expected to learn how to use fundamental techniques in dealing with logistics problems with in depth knowledge to manage logistics activities with a supply chain management perspective. The course covers key activities related to logistics and supply chain management, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, customer service, and facility location.
