Objectives

  • use the literature of different Accounting topics to research several accountingrnquestions, such as students should understand how the project cost system works andrnhow it s in the context of corporate accounting. They should learn: how to setrnfees to make a profit how to read corporate financial statements and understand whatrnthe numbers mean concepts of budgeting and, does the data tell a story. Studentsrnshould understand the basics they need to be effective project managers (and to somernextent, firm managers) having full command of the project cost accounting system andrnits roll in delivering a project on time and in budget.rnï‚· understand the role of judgment in analyzing various acceptable accounting practices,rndetermining the results of their outcomes, and selecting the best accounting treatmentrnfor a transaction,rnï‚· communicate the results of accounting research in clear and concise written and oralrnreports. [This project requires you to engage in some form of written and oralrncommunication as part of the course grade. You might be collaborating on a teambasedrnresearch project, preparing a report for a local business, informally workingrnwith a group of students during class time, or individually researching material for arnposter session.
